No trip to China is complete without almost dying on the Great Wall.
One sunny Saturday morning at dawn, four grown men, full of confidence (and in one case, Absinthe) took an excursion to the epic barrier and were shocked by their lack of research.
As it happens, the Great Wall was somehow constructed on some of the most challenging terrain on the planet.
After a full on day of climbing hill, walking down rivers and getting battered and bruised on the way, we had to leave one of the pack at a village to get him biked to safety.
If the landscape won't kill you, the ants will.
The final three plundered on until dusk started to creep in, and, as the sun began to drop over the stunning scenery, the sight of "droppings" served as a reminder that we were sharing this land with some quite nimble predators...
